In the Halven Rising Series, love and ancient allegiances are threatened when the worlds of Fae and Halven collide. Each Halven Rising novel features a different couple and may be read as a standalone, but an overreaching story arc connects the books, so it’s fun to read them in order.
The cover of this book drew my attention at first and then I read the book synopsis and I thought it would be something that would interest me. I haven’t been reading a lot of science fiction books and it was nice to read one again. Like all YA books, this was a very easy read and I was able to read it in a couple of days. Fae’s are new to me and I am certain that I haven’t read a book about them before; it’s always interesting to see a magical world.
There’s a lot going on in this book from Elena learning she has powers and learning that her mother is Fae to the whole Fae race being killed off by a disease. The first half was a little slow moving, but as the book went on the better it got! Derek and Elena were great characters and I would love to read more about them.
I can not wair for the next book to come out to see what is going to happen to Elena, Derek and the rest of the Fae race!
