STROKED by Meghan Quinn
Scheduled to release: July 20, 2016
NA Romantic Comedy

BLURB:

Reese King: Olympic medalist, underwear model, Greek god.

His body is chiseled from rock, sculpted by the weight room, and refined by water.

On a daily basis his skin is completely bare for everyone to see, tan and defined, only covered up by a minuscule piece of spandex. There is no denying his sex appeal.

I hate to admit it, but I’m head over heels infatuated with him.

There is one HUGE problem though. His achingly gorgeous abs, inked up arm, and cocky swagger belong to my boss, the high-profile, reality star bitch from hell and certified heinous human being, Bellini Chambers.

What I think is going to be an easy job assisting a glorified wench turns into a cluster f*ck of epic proportions.

About the Authors:
Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.
Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.
Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Synopsis:
A lush new fantasy about finding the will to lead against all odds, perfect for fans of Shadow and Bone.
Keri has been struggling to run her family bakery since her mother passed away. Now the father she barely knew—the Lord of Nimmira—has died, and ancient magic has decreed that she will take his place as the new Lady. The position has never been so dangerous: the mists that hide Nimmira from its vicious, land-hungry neighbors have failed, and Keri’s people are visible to strangers for the first time since the mists were put in place generations ago. At the same time, three half-brothers will their own eyes on the crown make life within the House just as dangerous as the world outside.
But Keri has three people to guide her: her mysterious Timekeeper, clever Bookkeeper, and steadfast Doorkeeper. Together they must find a way to repair the boundary before her neighbors realize just how vulnerable Nimmira is.
With a spunky main character, lyrical storytelling, and hidden romance, The Keeper of the Mist is an engrossing story that is full of adventure.

Keeper of the Mist was a book that I was really looking forward to read, I think the cover is just amazing! Once I started to read, it took me a little while to get into the story, something about it didn’t grab my attention. That might have to do with the fact that I didn’t feel a connection to the main characters. The story did pick up for me after a while, but there was never the, “I cant put this down, I have to finish it!” moment.I do think Ms. Neumeier is a great writer and just because I had a little bit of problem connection with these characters doesn’t mean I wont pick up another book by her again.

Prior to selling her first fantasy novel, she had published only a few articles in venues such as The American Journal of Botany. However, finding that her interests did not lie in research, Rachel left academia and began to let her hobbies take over her life instead.

Book Review: After We Fall by Marquita Valentine

Published April 25, 2016 by adventuresinbooklandblog
Join us in celebrating the release of AFTER WE FALL by Marquita Valentine!
Title: After We Fall (Take the Fall #3)
Age Group: Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 26, 2016
Book Description:

A tough cop with an even tougher past, Hunter Sloan has never let anyone stop him from getting what he wants—and he wants Evangeline Ambrose bad. With her gentle curves and raw vulnerability, Hunter’s beautiful, mysterious new neighbor awakens his protective side. Determined to do right by a woman who’s gone through hell and back, Hunter could be the one to take away the pain—so long as his own secrets don’t sink their relationship before it begins.

Having escaped an abusive marriage, Evangeline simply wants to start over in the small, quiet town of Forrestville. She’s also avoiding all contact with the opposite sex, because she just can’t trust her instincts when it comes to men—not even with the sinfully sexy cop next door. So why can’t she stop thinking about him? Hunter has darkness in his soul, and yet no one ever made her feel so safe. For all her best laid plans, Evangeline didn’t count on choices this hard—or temptation this hot.

Book Review:

In After We Fall, we follow Hunter and Evangeline, whom we met in the pervious installment. I knew I was going to like these two from that book and I wasn’t let down after reading this book, but hey, I’m never let down by anything that Ms. Valentine writes. Her husband abused Evangeline, and she’s just trying to move on and she can’t get Hunter out of her head. Then there’s Hunter the man that brought her to safety, he understands he needs to keep a distance, but just can’t.

There’s so much more to After We Fall then just a romance. There more to each character than what you see at first as well.

Ms. Valentine always seems to write books that I cant seem to put down and After the Fall is no different. I highly recommend this book for any of her fans and also anyone looking for a great easy read.

BLURB:

It finally happened, I lost my virginity. Cue applause and cheers.

For a while life was all rainbows and kittens prancing in a sky full of cotton candy clouds…that was until the demands of the real world set in.

My best friend is getting married and she asked me to be her maid of honor. She’s not worried about flowers, or the dress, or the food at the venue. No, she’s worried about the bachelorette party, what kind of penis crown she will wear, and the nipple size of the stripper who will be attending.

I’m in way over my head trying to balance life with a boyfriend, planning a penis party, and writing my romance novel. Something is bound to give.

This is my life after my happily ever after…

Review:

Just like The Virgin Romance Novelist, The Randy Romance was hilarious and had me laughing from the very first page!

In this story we find Rosie right where she left off in her new place with her new boyfriend and her new randy self. Now that she has lost her v-card all she wants is Henry and he’s happy to comply. Although, she tends to want to reenact her favorite scenes in her book, and he doesn’t seem a fan of that. I loved seeing all the old characters in this book too. Yes, even our favorite little feline is in this one.

Although, Henry and Rosie seem to have gotten their little Happily Ever After, an old flame of Henry’s comes into the picture and may cause some ripples in this happy life.

If you are looking for a funny easy read, than this is the one for you!

Her bosom heaved at an alarming rate as his rough hand found its way down to her soft, yet wiry briar patch…

Can you say briar patch in a romance novel? What about meat sword? That’s what it is…a meat sword, right, all meaty and sword like, slaying through the inner dungeons of a woman’s dark desires. What about breasts? Do bosoms really heave?

God, I have no idea what happens when private parts touch.

I’m a virgin trying to write a romance novel and can’t seem to write past a sex scene thanks to my lack of experience.

My two best friends encourage me to drop the pen for a while and gain some real life practice through multiple dating facets such as blind dates, online profiles, and random hookups.

But losing my virginity is proving to be tougher than expected…

Book Review:

I love love love Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury Series and I knew I needed to read more from her! Although, the Wicked Horse Series is completely different from the Cold Fury one its just as good!

Wicked Need is the third book in the series (I have only read #2 and #3). This installment follows Rand and Catherine, whom we have met in the previous books. I definitely had images of these two in my mind and did not expect what I got! Catherine was someone who liked to play and once readers reader her story they will be shocked. Also, I kind of thought Rand was into guys not girls, so that was an interesting twist of events. Also he’s a bit of a knight in shining armor and loves to run in on his white horse.

You could feel the chemistry between Rand and Catherine and I enjoyed seething them together. I also liked seeing Cain and Sloane in this story, since I adored those two so much.

I now cannot wait to read Logan’s story next!

THE TRUTH WON’T HIDE FOREVER

To protect Logan, I have no choice but to deceive him.
But I’m not the only one hiding the truth.
Will our love survive all the secrets and lies?

Enemy alien ships crowd the skies over Earth while the world waits with bated breath. The Saven have been exposed, and where once they were abhorred, they are now championed as our greatest ally and our only possible savior.

Logan and Sadie have been separated, and the longer he is gone, the more their love is tested by duty, doubts, and deception.

Sadie and Jarod have infiltrated the highest levels of government, but they are playing a dangerous game. Surrounded by people with conflicting agendas—hell-bent on using her for their own aim—Sadie is confused when the lines between good and evil are blurred. It’s impossible to tell friend from foe, and no one can be trusted.

When the full extent of the experiments taking place in Sector Twenty is disclosed, Sadie can no longer sit back and watch as the lower classes face a horrific fate. Racing to save her loved ones and mankind, she risks her own safety and the love she’s waited a lifetime for to do the right thing.

But no one thought to save her from herself.

6608a-review

While reading I love to be taken on new adventures into the worlds authors have created for their readers. That’s what Ms. Davis did in her newest installment in the Saven Series. Ms. Davis created a world full of twist and turns. I never saw where this book was going and kept me reading. I also liked seeing the alien world for a little bit. You can tell by the amazing cover of this book that’s Ms. Davis has creating an interesting world.

In Saven Disclosure, Sadie is officially working for the VP and Logan is tour around with the King. Needless to say Sadie and Logan are officially in a long distance relationship. It’s not easy for them, but they are making it work. This gives readers a chance to really get to know not only Sadie, but also Hayden, who is now looking out for Sadie. I have to say I really started to like Hayden and I hope to see more of him in other books. There were also times where I became frustrated with both Sadie and Logan. They both did things that had me yelling at my kindle.

It was also interesting to see the alien government as well as the American government and how they worked together and against each other. I’m not usually a fan of sifi, or any alien novels, this may even be only the third book that I have read in this genre, but there is something about Ms. Davis’ writing that just draws me in.

The one and only complaint I have about this book is that it ended in a cliff hanger and I have to wait until the next book to read more.

I write young adult science fiction fantasy romance books, set amidst a dystopian world, because they are the types of books that I love to read. Expect lots of kissing and romantic scenes! I also haven’t been given the moniker ‘The Cliffhanger Queen’ for nothing!

A self-professed teenager forever–at least when it comes to books, music, and films, I am totally addicted to YA and NA fiction and superhero/blockbuster movies. I love baking, shoes, bags, makeup, anti-wrinkle cream, anything pink, Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, and Robert Pattinson (definitely Team Edward).

b2413-synopsis

Everything about Jessie is wrong. At least, that’s what it feels like during her first week of junior year at her new ultra-intimidating prep school in Los Angeles. Just when she’s thinking about hightailing it back to Chicago, she gets an email from a person calling themselves Somebody/Nobody (SN for short), offering to help her navigate the wilds of Wood Valley High School. Is it an elaborate hoax? Or can she rely on SN for some much-needed help?

It’s been barely two years since her mother’s death, and because her father eloped with a woman he met online, Jessie has been forced to move across the country to live with her stepmonster and her pretentious teenage son.

In a leap of faith—or an act of complete desperation—Jessie begins to rely on SN, and SN quickly becomes her lifeline and closest ally. Jessie can’t help wanting to meet SN in person. But are some mysteries better left unsolved?

Julie Buxbaum mixes comedy and tragedy, love and loss, pain and elation, in her debut YA novel filled with characters who will come to feel like friends

6608a-review

Jessie lost her mother and when Jessie’s father gets remarried, Jessie must start a new life in a new city and a whole new prep school. After starting at her new school, Jessie receives an email from Somebody Nobody, the writer of the email refuses to tell her who he or she is, but does offer to help her at school by telling her who to become friends with and who to avoid. As the story goes on Somebody Nobody and Jessie form a friendship of sorts, they both confine to each other, making them feel less alone then they have been feeling recently.

I had no idea I would like this book as much as a did. There is something about the mystery of who SN was and the relationship Jessie was making with this person. I also enjoyed all the other characters in the story. They were all very realistic and relatable! There wasn’t anyone I really disliked other than the girl that were mean to Jessie. Jessie was a strong lead that invoked feelings of loneness in the readers. I felt for her the whole time and rooted for her to find her Somebody Nobody.  I thought Somebody Nobody was very likable once he/she opened up to Jessie, but I also like the mystery.  Somebody Nobody has gone through a lot and I think they had a lot in common.

This was just one of those stories that when you are finished reading, you end up with a huge smile on your face, I know I did! I also didn’t want this books to end, I was so disappointed when I got to the last page.  I cannot wait to read more from Ms. Buxbaum!!!
