BOOK SUMMERY:

Rohnert comes from a long line of pure-blooded vampires. Quiet and principled, he is known for his combat expertise and is beloved by peers and students alike. Having broken away from the Vampire Council, Rohnert has nothing to do with the affairs of the elite group of Elders, which is being run into the ground by Goran, a former friend and ally.

With the vampire race in upheaval, he must rise to the occasion and fulfill the prophecy of the black book, which is the source of wisdom and history of his people. Refusing to support Goran’s tyrannical rule and with no interest in ruling himself, he allies with freedom fighters led by the indomitable Harrow Gates. However, the prophecies failed to prepare him to handle one passionate and determined human doctor.

Shelly Anderson vowed to never fall in love again, but her resolve quickly changes upon meeting enigmatic and reclusive Rohnert. Although she was lucky enough to get what she wanted, their one night together ended in a nightmare. Now carrying his baby, she intends to raise the child on her own, but Rohnert’s unexpected reentry into her life derails her plans.

While she teaches him how powerful a human’s love can be, Rohnert realizes the lengths he is willing to go to keep her close and safe, even if it means violating a long-standing decree among pure-blooded vampires to keep their bloodlines alive.

When Goran begins to kill off the remaining Elders, Harrow’s rebels urge Rohnert to step in, but it isn’t until harsh reality comes knocking at his door that his choice becomes clear. Rohnert must do whatever he can to save the people he loves or risk losing them forever, but the reluctant savior may already be too late to protect the lives that matter most.

BOOK REVIEW:

After reading the first book in the Gates Legacy Hunted I became attached to Harrow and Jordan. Then I read the second book in the series and I became attached to Tor and Alison while falling further in love with Harrow and Jordan. Now I have finished the third installment and I can say I have grown attached to Rohnert and Shelly. When I first began this series, the multiple points of view confused me and I will confess I was not a fan, but now I can say I love that Lorenz Font has done this. As a reader, I am able to still see the world through the eyes of all my beloved characters even though the story isn’t truly based on them.

Ascension not only has the characters that we have grown to love, but we are introduced to so many more. We were also introduced into the vampire culture a little more; like the mating rituals and how the vampire council works. This novel was filled with all the drama the first two had and of course it had the same devastation the pervious installments had. I have to say Lorenz Font has surprised me with each story, and I have not seen some of the plot coming, and I will admit I had some tears.

For all those romance lovers, there were defiantly some sexy scenes between Rohnert and Shelly and of course so much love with all the pairs (Harrow/Jordan and Tor/Allison). There were also some sneak peeks of future pairs that I am very excited to see more of.

I cannot wait to see where Lorenz Font takes this vampire/human family next!!

Review for The Hunted

There is a plague in vampire community, and the Vampire Council will stop at nothing to stop it and that means they are all after, Harrow Gates. He did not know he was the people who started this vampire disease until Pritchard took Harrow in and explained everything to him. Pritchard has taken him in as one of his own; feeding him, going him a place to stay and giving him clothes to wear, but there’s more to Pritchard then he first says and he seems to be hiding something. Then there is Jordan, a girl with an agenda she has made known, kill the man who turned her. This may not be as easy as she thought it would, she now has a friend and has an attraction to Harrow, which she can’t explain.

I haven’t really read many vampire books, to be honest the only one I have read was Twilight. This book was nothing compared to that. Lorenz Font did a great job creating a world that was very vivid and imaginative. It was very interesting to read a story where they explain why and how humans and vampires are different and how they are the same. Also the vampires seemed like humans; they got dirty, showered, they didn’t glitter in the sunlight, and they got sick. I thought that having a disease that was plaguing the vampire community was very interesting!

There were numerous POV and it confused me at times, the change of POV sometimes just happened. There was no indicator on who the POV was on now, it would just switch and I would have to figure out through reading who the story line was now following. Once I got past the confusion, I enjoyed the numerous POV, but still wish there was some sort of warning when the new view came into play.

I really enjoyed reading this novel and I can’t wait to begin reading the second book in the series! I know it will keep me engaged just as much as the first one did!!

Review for  Tormented

Tormented takes place where Hunted left off, Allison, Harrow and the rest of the survivors are morning the loss of their beloved Pritchard Tack.

I didn’t think I would like another book in this series a much as I enjoyed the first book, but Lorenz Font, did a great job with this one as well. There was so much action that kept me guessing and engaged. I loved the new characters that were introduced and development of old characters. It was very interesting to get more of the POV some of the vampires in Goran’s Harlem.

Of course I missed hearing Harrow and Jordan’s story as the bulk of the book, but I enjoyed hearing about Allison and Tor. Finally, seeing Tor’s past to see who he really is and things he went through in the past. WOW!

Jordan and Harrow continued to take on their new parental roles. I adored Gail and the relationships she has with all the people in her family, and she certainly has a BIG one
