BOOK SUMMERY:

One little white lie leads to more than she planned…

Straight-laced lawyer Kate Matthews always plays by the rules. But when her ex gets engaged and a big promotion is on the line at work, she blurts out that she has a new boyfriend. And now that she’s proved she “has a life” outside of work, everything is perfect. Except for one teeny little detail―there is no boyfriend. And now Kate’s liable for her little white lie…

Dominic Sorensen is hot, charming, and very definitely not Kate’s type. But not only does Dominic want to help Kate renovate her home, he’s also willing to play “boyfriend.” All he wants in return is a little pro bono work for his sister. Now instead of Mr. Right, Kate has a delectable Mr. Fix-It-Right―and some unbelievable sexual chemistry. And if falling for Dominic is a breach of contract, Kate is guilty as charged…

MY REVIEW:

What a sweet story!!!! I am a huge fan of Entangled Bliss stories and this one did not fail me. I think this story had the right amount of passion and cute moments. Even though it was the type of story where I basically knew what was going to happen, it didn’t keep me from enjoying it. I loved how Kate changed and grew as a person, finding what she really wanted in life as appose to what she thought she wanted. Dominic, I do not know what to say about him, he had the biggest heart and a big contender for a book boyfriend!!!! His family were quite a group of characters as well! I cannot wait to read more stories about them and hopefully seeing how Kate and Dominic are doing.

This is the type of book that I know I will be reading again and again when I want to curl up with a cute love story.

Book Summery:

Sophie Richards has been looking forward to a much-needed girls’ night out: a Rolling Stones tribute-band concert, a few drinks, a distraction from her grueling nursing shifts in acute care. But when her best friend bails, Sophie gets stuck with a blind date.

Although Brett Nicholson may be the hottest carpenter alive, and Sophie may technically be single, she isn’t exactly on the market. Six years ago she found The One. He was everything Sophie dreamed a man could be—and then she lost him. In an instant, her whole life changed, and she forgot all about happily ever after.

But as she gets to know Brett, Sophie starts to wonder about the future for the first time. With a broken heart still clouding her mind, jumping into a new relationship feels impossible. When she’s in his arms, walking away feels even harder. Now Sophie faces an impossible choice: living in the past or choosing love in the here and now.

Book Review:

“I turn toward the trail, and make a new path on my way out of the woods”

Every time I read the title to his book, I start singing the song, to my delight the book was named after the Rolling Stone’s song. To make it even better each chapter was named after other Rolling Stone’s songs.

Now to the story and the characters in this book, I loved it all!!! I saw so much of myself in Sophie, from dating a boy full of tattoos to losing him, just not in the same way. I even know of a Brett that has blue eyes and is as sweet as the Brett in this story, I think the fact that I was able to relate to this story so much made me like the story more than I would have if I didn’t.

I like that Chelsey Krause had flash backs within her story but I think they might have been a bit too long. I caught myself loving Sophie’s relationship with Bret so much, that I could wait for the story to go back to present day. I also felt as though there were enough scenes of Brett and Sophie together. Once the two became a couple there was a lot of, “weeks later”, “days later”. Do not get me wrong I loved all Sophie’s interactions with her family and friends, but maybe they were a bit long and could have been cut shorter to make more pages for the Brett/ Sophie relationship.

Sophie grew as a character in my eyes by putting behind the past and figuring out what she wanted in not only her personal but also her professional life. I would love to many see another book to see where she has ended up, even though this book ended in a way the reader will be completely satisfied.

Falling in love with Randi’s crush is the single easiest way to find oneself on the outside for the next three years.

When Ashley arrived at college, she never dreamed she’d find this kind of happiness. Will she allow herself to hold on to this happiness, and Colin, or will her fear of losing her friends, the only friends she’s ever known, dictate her actions?

Book Review:

Accepted was a sweet new adult romance which dealt with friendship, love and tearing down walls. I loved so many parts of this book, the characters, the plot and every compelling scene. I absolutely adored Ashley, she was such a sweet girl that desperately wanted to feel wanted and loved. The thing was she was missing out on some of that while worrying about what she would lose if she would allow Colin in. Becca and Colin were also great characters! I wish this story was longer so I could have seen more interaction between Becca and Ashley, they seemed to become great best friends and I wanted to see/feel that a little more. Colin on the other hand was a sweetheart, he was behind Ashley every step of the way and even did things that made me say “aww” after I found out.

The things that I didn’t like aren’t huge; I just wish the story was longer!!!!! I did not want to give up reading right when Ashley and Colin started their relationship! I was left wanting more, maybe a second book can be written 😉

BOOK SUMMERY:

Georgie Kendrick wakes up after a heart transplant, but the organ beating in her chest doesn’t seem to be in tune with the rest of her body. Why does she have a sudden urge for strawberries when she’s been allergic for years? Why can’t she remember last Christmas?

Driven to find her donor, Georgie discovers her heart belonged to a girl her own age who fell out of the foster care system and into a rough life on the streets. Everyone thinks she committed suicide, but Georgie is compelled to find the truth – before she loses herself completely.

BOOK REVIEW:

Nicole Maggi did a great just writing about a girl who has just had a heart transplant. I personally know someone who has recently had a heart transplant and the main character in this story reminded me of her. Although, there were some parts that were a little unbelievable. I do believe that after a transplant the person feels like something doesn’t belong, and the recipient starts to think if they deserve it or they can feel that the heart isn’t beating the way their old heart did, but the whole seeing visions of the past owners life is a bit of a stretch.

The issues the story touched upon were interesting and not ones that I have read about before. This was the first time I read a story that involved sex trafficking. There were someone good points in the story and I love that Nicole Maggi wrote about ways to help these children involved. She was able to intertwine these ways into the story perfectly through Georgie. This was also the first book I read that involved a transgender, I thought the struggles she was going through with family were quite believable, not all family are accepting.

I would recommend this book for young adults that aren’t really looking for a realistic fiction. I think that teens would enjoy reading it!

The Rules According to Gracie (Entangled Lovestruck)

BOOK SUMMERY:

Too bad she keeps getting distracted by her super-sexy, six-feet-of-tattooed-hotness friend, Des, who is so many shades of Mr. Wrong…

Bar owner Des Chapman has vowed never again to get involved with society girls. Yet he’s irresistibly drawn to Gracie—those lush curves, those lips, and her ridiculous ability to date the wrong guys. As Gracie’s discouragement grows, Des realizes it’s time to show her what she really needs in a man—and it has nothing to do with a briefcase and generous bank account. He’ll teach Gracie the Rules According To Des…even if it means breaking his rule in the process.

MY REVIEW:

Rule number one: Don’t fall for the wrong guy

The Rules According to Gracie was a short but sweet story that I was able to read in one sitting. I loved the friendship Gracie and Des had from the very beginning of the book. He would save her from boring dates, but secretly wanted to be on one with her, and she secretly wanted to be with him. From the very beginning there was such chemistry between the main characters, I just wanted them to give into their attraction, but where’s fun in that? I absolutely loved that they would email each other during their lunch break, too cute!!!

The only problem I had about this book was that it wasn’t longer, I would love to read another story involving these two characters!

Path of Destruction (Broken Heartland, #2)

Title- Path of Destruction (Broken Heartland #2)

Author- Elizabeth Lee and Caisey Quinn

Publisher- Lee & Quinn

BOOK SUMMERY:

While the brick suburban mansions of Summit Bluffs saw very little damage, their occupants weren’t so lucky. As the members of both communities struggle to put the pieces of their lives back together, lies will be told, truths will be revealed, and nothing will ever be the same. The road to recovery is long and paved with past hurts and future heartbreaks. They ignored the warning signs, and one of them didn’t make it out alive. The four that remain know they’d be crazy to think the storms are actually over..

Because it’s just when you think you’re safe that you find yourself right in the path of destruction.

MY REVIEW:

Well thank you Elizabeth and Caisey, you had me crying from the very start of the book. As much as I didn’t truly have a connection to the person at the beginning of the book, I felt for the characters that were left behind (two in particular). There was so mush devastation after the storm and so many lives were lost. We get a glimpse on how natural disasters can change lives in many different ways.

I am not a fan of Hayden at all, no matter what he does in the book for some reason I can’t root for him. I do adore Cooper though, he has such a big heart and any trouble he does find himself in is because he’s protecting people, even if they don’t want it. There were a lot of decisions that the main characters made that I didn’t particularly think they should have made, of course that’s what makes a good book. If I didn’t have any connection to feeling toward the characters, it would be just an easy read. This one was a bit hard to read since I was feeling so many emotions.

I think if I say anymore I will give away major parts of the book. Let’s just say at the end of this book, I was mad I need to wait to read the next installment.

Eyes Turned Skyward

Eyes Turned Skyward starts when Paisley Donovan is on the beach with her friend Morgan when she lays eyes on Mr. California, who we later know as Jagger Bateman. Paisley of course thinks Jagger is attractive, but she has a boyfriend and knows she would be thins guys type. This one of Morgan’s friends places her in a situation where Jagger saves her life. Instantly we see the attraction they both have for each other. After saving her life Jagger and Paisley go on their separate ways, but not far from each other’s minds. After a run in at the library Paisley works at the two of them decide to be friends, but they are each hiding huge secrets.

There were times I just sat there pleading with the characters to fess up and explain what is really going on in their lives, but of course they didn’t until it all came out at the wrong time. There were times I think Paisley kept saying that she had a boyfriend, not to convince anyone but herself. I have to admit she made me angry a couple of times but in the end that is what made me love her so much. Jagger on the other hand, had the BIGGEST heart; he did so much for the people around him and never asked for a thing in return. It also helped that he was beyond sexy!!

Rebecca Yarros did a great job developing her characters, I not only loved Paisley and Jaggar but all the supporting characters as well. As much as Will sort of annoyed me and at one point I thought he might not be faithful to Paisley (but in a way I guess he wasn’t), I would absolutely love to see a book about him, and get a little more insight on him. Also I REALLY want to know more about Gayson, this guy was just full of mystery and I NEED to know more. As for Josh, I know there is already a book about him and Ember and of course I haven’t read it, but now it is on my MUST READ list!!!!

This defiantly needs to be on everyone’s MUST READ list!

In the Cards

Title- In the Cards

Author: Jamie Black

Release Date: December 9th, 2014

Lindsay and Levi met 8 years ago at a resort in Florida, he embarrassed her and she never forgot him. After Lindsay fleas from New York to Malibu, leaving her friends, family and ex-fiancé, to find herself and see if she can forgive her ex-fiancé, Rob, after his betrayal. Levi on the other hand likes to stay to himself and keeps his distance from his family and everyone around him. He learned early on after his mother left him and his father that people you care about can hurt you.

When I first read the synopsis I thought that Levi was going to be a guy that would lead Lindsay on and break her heart in the end. Maybe that was his plan but he wasn’t that guy at all. One he sorted out his feeling and understood them, he tried to explain himself to Lindsey.

Lindsay on the other hand had such a big heart! She didn’t need to take care of Levi after his accident, but she did. She tried to get to know him and was so thoughtful. While Levi was in the hospital she knew he would like a book to read, so she went to the library for him. She also knew he is very particular about his food, so she would bring him something each day so he wouldn’t need to eat the hospital food. I was not a fan of the people around Lindsay; everyone seemed to want to tell her how to live her life and how what she was doing was so wrong, I am so glad she had Levi on her side!

Together Lindsay and Levi found themselves and helped each other grow as people. They taught each other life lessons and that would bond them together!
