The vampires of New York City are breathing easier after the demise of the tyrannical former head of the Vampire Council, Goran. Under Rohnert, the revered and newly ascended leader, their future looks promising. However, an unknown enemy is manipulating events, killing humans and vampires alike, and exposing their secrets to the human world.

This is bad news for new vampire Cyrus and his band of fighters at Tack Enterprises. Events derail his plans to find Zane, the sadistic vampire who tortured Cyrus and forced immortality on him. Armed with hatred deep in his bones,11214177_699625673498474_7383337547356939759_n all Cyrus cares about is getting even, and Zane has it coming. Cyrus soon finds himself torn between the crippling desire for revenge and his responsibility to his friends. When he begins to spend time in the company of the beautiful and pureblooded vampire, Isidora, her presence in his life makes him rethink his priorities.

Isidora is able to read minds. The thoughts she hears from the respected and irresistible vampire, Cyrus, are filled with both anger towards Zane and a deep admiration for her. Being closeted all her life, Issy has no idea what to do in the face of the outside world’s war, death, and challenges. One thing is clear. She craves Cyrus, but his need for vengeance is clouding his mind. After discovering a previously hidden family member and being called to serve the Council, Issy is at a crossroads in her life and struggles to find the right path.

Both vampires face tough choices. Should Issy pursue her feelings for Cyrus or wait until he can return her affection? Will Cyrus deny his attraction to Isidora so he can kill the man who made his life a living hell on earth? Every decision leads to a reckoning.

With Isidora in his arms, Cyrus found comfort from the torture of his nightmares and his past. The warmth of her touch and the sweetness of her kisses made him think of nothing but the present and the desire he had long denied.

11203043_697474750380233_423588790353345754_nCyrus had no idea how to take things between them. He had given her rough sex because he had been a jealous ass. If he’d been thinking clearly, he wouldn’t have done it. Yet he had given in to the intense need to possess her. Maybe, if he took things slow and started from the beginning, he could make do with the little kisses and touching. However, the tenting inside his pants was a cause for concern. It didn’t take long for her to notice.

Issy broke their kiss and smiled up at him. She had that gleam in her eyes, the kind that told him she knew what he was thinking. He rotated his hips, trying to create room between their bodies, but she refused to let him go.

“This is a good time to see if we can work things out.”

“Damn it,” Cyrus muttered. Was he ready? The answer was out of his hands. With the massive wood he was sporting, even a long dip in an icebox wouldn’t chill him out. His body needed Issy, and there was no doubt she wanted him, too.

“Cy, you can take charge of everything. We’ll go at your pace and on your terms. I’m here to enjoy the ride.”

This made him smile. “Even if the ride is bumpy?”

“As long as I’m with you.” She tightened her arms around his waist. “I don’t care how rough, how easy—just take me with you.”

My Thoughts:

I always love reading books that when you think everything is fine and dandy and all of a sudden something happens and you are completely shocked. Dangerous Decisions had that affect on me and I am so excited I was given a chance to read this book.

Right away I was drawn into this book, Ms. Cruz introduced us to Carino and her bad day, which was very realistic. It was something that I can see happening to me. I also liked the fact that even though there was a huge attraction between Carino and Ramno, they took their time and out to know each other before anything really happened. By them getting to know each other, I was able to get to know them and boy was there a lot to get to know in Ramon, he was so complex! One of my favorite things to look for while reading is character development and this story had it in all the right place!!!

I think anyone who enjoys reading suspense romances then this one would be a great pick. It not only kept me engaged but it was a quick read!

Author Bio:

B.B. Cruz currently lives in Alaska with her husband, two teenage daughters and two little doggies. She’s a huge fan of romance, and loves to cozy up with a novel, which definitely makes the long winters and cold nights easier to handle.

Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist!
Release Date: 05/18/15
Summary from Goodreads:
From bestselling author Kaitlyn Davis, writing as Kay Marie, comes a new adult romantic comedy about a girl who’ll soon discover that some secrets can’t be kept forever, especially those of the heart.
My name is Skylar Quinn, I just moved to New York with my best friend Bridget, and I have a confession. Well, more than one. Okay, quite a few really. Fine, here goes!

Confession #1: I’m a sex columnist. Hold on, that’s not really the confession. You see, I’m sort of a virgin…sex columnist.

Confession #2: I’m in love with Bridget’s older brother, Oliver. No—I was. No—I am. Wait, was? Am? Crap.

Confession #3: I’ve been avoiding Oliver for four years. Or I was until today, because he just moved in. Yes, you read that correctly. He’s my new roommate. So that night we’ve both been pretending never happened, well, we might not be able to keep it a secret any longer.

And trust me, this is only the beginning.

Book Review: Fade to Black by Sue Duff

Published June 3, 2015 by adventuresinbooklandblog

Title- Fade to Black

Author- Sue Duff

Publisher- CrossWinds Publishing

Book Summery:

Illusionist Ian Black has a talent for keeping secrets. College student Rayne Bevan has a gift for uncovering them. She suspects that the popular performer’s skills extend beyond the stage and that he’s the area’s mysterious and elusive defender of the innocent. In her efforts to uncover the truth, Rayne is swept into the hidden world of the Weir, a magical race who struggle to prevent Earth from self-destructing. Her inquiries expose Ian to those who would kill for his connection to the planet, and as he fights to keep Rayne, and those closest to him safe, they discover a force behind the Weir’s raging civil war—a traitor bent on launching Earth’s Armageddon.

My Thoughts:

What an action pack-thrilling book!!! Fade to Black kept me captivated from the very first page!!!! Since Sue Duff drops us into an action filled scene, the reader wants nothing more then to figure out what’s going on. Yes there were times I was completely confused about what was going on, but all questions were answered in a matter of time.

I also enjoyed reading about each and every one of the characters, they were all truly likable, except for the bad guys! I completely adore Ian Black, there’s so much to him and he seems to have a huge heart. He cares for all his friends and would do anything for them. I like his relationship with Rayne and I want to know how things will end up there.

I can’t not wait to read the second book in the series especially since this one ended in a cliffhanger!

from Goodreads:
Sometimes the only thing standing
between fear and hope is yourself.
Almost a year ago, nineteen-year-old Cassie Harlen had a lot to deal with. A
stack of college acceptance letters waiting for answers, a proposal from the
boy next door, and a mother whose most recent bipolar episode left Cassie hurt
and confused. Tired of cleaning up the messes caused by her mother’s disorder,
of resenting her mother for not being there, and scared of being trapped by an
inevitable future—which included marrying Graham Tucker—Cassie did the only
thing she could think of to keep from ending up like her mother: she left.
Graham never knew why Cassie walked away. He woke up one morning and she was
gone—along with the life that he’d created around her. After eleven months,
Graham has a new plan for his future. One that doesn’t involve Cassie Harlen.
When Cassie’s mom nearly burns down her house, Cassie’s forced to return home.
Back to a mother she’s tried to ignore and the guy she’s been unable to forget.
Graham doesn’t know how he’s going to spend the whole summer living next door
to the person who broke his heart without letting those old feelings push
through to the surface.
Neither does Cassie.

Book Review: Modern Monsters by Kelley York

Published June 1, 2015 by adventuresinbooklandblog

Title- Modern Monsters

Author- Kelley York

Publisher- Entangled Teen

Release – June 2, 2015

Vic Howard never wanted to go to the party. He’s the Invisible Guy at school, a special kind of hell for quiet, nice guys. But because his best friend is as popular as Vic is ignored, he went…

And wished he hadn’t.

Because something happened to a girl that night. Something terrible, unimaginable, and Callie Wheeler’s life will never be the same. Plus, now Callie has told the police that Vic is responsible. Suddenly, Invisible Vic is painfully visible, on trial both literally, with the police, and figuratively, with the angry kids at school. As the whispers and violence escalate, he becomes determined to clear his name, even if it means an uneasy alliance with Callie’s best friend, the beautiful but aloof Autumn Dixon.

But as Autumn and Vic slowly peel back the layers of what happened at the party, they realize that while the truth can set Vic free, it can also shatter everything he thought he knew about his life…

I knew just by the cover of this book, it was something that I was going to enjoy reading. Tis book deals with a sensitive subject and Kelley York does a wonderful job writing it.

This book focused on friendship and family. I can say I loved Autumn and Vic, they worked so well together. I also liked the fact that Vic isn’t your stereotypical hero, he wasn’t the most confidant, popular guy with many friends, he was the opposite with just one friend, Brett. He had plenty of problems at home as well, feeling like his mother doesn’t like him and the sight of him makes her sick. Autumn like Brett wanted to protect her friend and she really cared about those around her. I like how she believed that Vic wasn’t the one to rape Callie.

The only problem I had with this book was that I figured out right away who the real person was that attacked Callie. It was more, “I bet _____ did it”, and I was completely right! Even though I was able to guess it, it didn’t take away from the rest of the story. There was so much more to it than that.
